COURSES and WORKSHOPS

Lectures - We offer a broad range of presentations by professional speakers. Topics include Eastern Philosophy, Philosophy of Magic, the message and life of Aikido's founder; the Philosophy of Art, and much more.

Courses - (Two-day to three-month) We have offered Courses on gardening and ecology, Philosophy of Magic, Rolfing, Continuum, Jin Shin Do. and the Japanese language.

Workshops - One- to two-day presentations on topics such as body movement education, Aikido, Continuum, art, Japanese brushwork. and more.

Art Shows - We exhibit original art works in various media such as fabric, cloth, calligraphies, and photographs.

Community Events - We offer experiential education for a broad range of age groups through the following events: Sandokai Mountain walks, Japanese brushwork workshops, Samurai Film Series, and more.

Sandokai - A free monthly exploration of the Iocal mountain pathways. We explore the many paths surrounding Claremont as well as the trails available to us in the Mt Baldy National Forest.

 

 

 

Samurai Films - Free monthly showings of famous Japanese Samurai films.

Perspectives - A series of projects involving guest speakers and the Aikido Kid's class, designed to cultivate respect and toleration for traditions, ages, and religions.

 

 

 

 

Continuum - A movement education inquiry into a the fluid systems of life through breath, sound, and shifting relationships to gravity.

 

 

 

 

Japanese Tea Ceremony - A weekly class on the Art of Tea.

 

Tea Talks - An informal series of presentations on different aspects of enjoying tea.

 

Jin Shin Do - A mind body accupressure technique that emphasizes developing and maintaining well-being and rejuvenation through the release of mind/body tension.

The Samurai Sword - An introduction to the history, technique, and spiritual exercise of the samurai sword.

 

 

Philosophy of Organic Gardening and Integrative Systems - A workshop exploring the principles behind organic gardening.

Philosophy Lectures - Talks on a variety of topics from Eastern Philosophy to the Philosophy oj Magic.

Movement Workshops - Exploring body movement essential with the aim of developing freedom and pleasure of movement.

Abandoned Fabric Art Show - Artwork fashioned from pieces of discarded kimono.

Zen Art Show - Calligraphy a. and brush art by Zen masters.

Living By Design Art Show - Coats and jackets fusing Eastern and Western fabrics.
